Softley and Page (S&P) is based in the UK and comprises partners Mike Softley, silversmith, and Gordon Evans, business partner. Our speciality is production of individual models of ships against commissions. The quality of such models depends overwhelmingly on the artistry and craftsmanship of Mike and as such cannot be duplicated.

We do make smaller models where we can use methods of reproduction which allow more modest pricing and in so far as the techniques allow we have carried over the qualities with which we imbue the individual pieces.

Some products lend themselves to manufacture by electrforming - essentially plating to a thickness which in itself gives adequate structural strength. In this respect we have an association and marketing activity with BJS Company Ltd, The Royal Silversmiths.

We also have a relationship with sculptor Tim Simmons where the product originates as a wax sculpture, e.g. animal figures, in contrast to the fabrication from sheet, rod, wire etc for the boats.
