Both these yachts are presented in a formal full hull manner - where owners can check that every nuance of shape of the hull is correctly reproduced ! We never saw the actual vessel Shearmyste but with the aid of the hull lines from the builder and a set of photographs supplied under our direction by the owner we were able to produce a model both accurate, and detailed including the personalisation which most owners impose on their vessel. The ketch Tagembo III was Gordons last sailing boat. An interesting story reflecting the detail built into these models is that when an American agent for selling U.K. built boats in America was shown the photograph here of Tagembo III, he commented that although he did not know the particular model of yacht, he knew it must have come from one of two builders - there being only two using, at that time, the particular type of stanchion socket visible on the model.
