These are individual pieces in the respect that the coloured glass plates on which the board, figure, and sail are mounted are individually spun, coloured, and formed. Only after the plate is made available is it decided how best to mount the wind surfer.

As with the multiple production boats, it is possible to make some individual modifications without impacting too much on the cost, for instance piercing or decorating the sail. The surfer has been mounted on other bases; onyx, wood, agate.
